Parking in Meerssen

Free parking, except in two centres
In the municipality of Meerssen you park on the street for free. There is no paid on-street parking, so you do not need to start a parking session here. Blue zones apply only in the centre of Meerssen and the centre of Bunde. You pay nothing there either, but you do place a parking disc clearly visible behind your windscreen, and a maximum parking time applies.
Meerssen centre: half an hour or two hours
Two regimes run alongside each other in the centre of Meerssen. On the Kruisstraat, the Beekstraat and part of the Bunderstraat, short stay applies: half an hour at most, and unlike elsewhere that counts all week and around the clock. So you may never park there without a disc. In the rest of the centre, including the Stationstraat, the Gasthuisstraat, the Kuileneindestraat and the 't Bergske and Gasthoes car parks by the Lidl, you can stay up to two hours: Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 18:00 and on Saturdays until 17:00. At the de Stip community centre the zone applies on weekdays until 15:00 only. The blue zone in the centre of Meerssen is a trial running until 31 December 2026.
Bunde: one hour by the shops
In Bunde the zone is smaller, introduced because of parking pressure around the Sint Agnesplein. On the Sint Rochusstraat and Bie de Köster car parks you can stay one hour with a disc, Monday to Saturday from 09:00 to 21:00. Outside those hours you can stay as long as you like. Along the street side by the supermarket there are nine long-stay spaces where no disc is needed. By the brasserie on the Trichterstraat there are four spaces with a three-hour limit.
What to watch for
Only park in the bays marked by a P sign carrying the word "zone" or along a blue line. Park beside them and you risk a fine. The maximum parking time differs per spot, so the signs on the street are what counts. If you live or work in a blue zone you can apply to the municipality for a parking exemption. That lets you stay in the zone without a time limit, except in the spots where everyone is held to half an hour.
