Where to park in Nijkerk
In the center of the town of Nijkerk paid parking applies, on the car parks and in the garages. Anyone doing half an hour of shopping pays a starting rate of € 0.55 there; after that the meter runs on per minute at € 1.10 per hour. If you linger, the maximum day rate is € 10.00. That starting rate makes short shopping cheap, but it also means you always pay something, even if you are only inside for 10 minutes.
Nijkerk also has four free car parks a short walk from the city center. Oostkadijk 1 at the old town hall is a 4-minute walk, Stationsweg 4 and Hassemanpad 4 at the station are 5 minutes, and Watergoorweg 31 is 9 minutes. For a longer visit that is the cheapest option in town.
Hours, zones and the villages
Paid parking applies from Monday to Saturday between 9:00 and 21:00. That is a long evening period for a town of this size: anyone going out for dinner in the evening therefore pays too. The hours and the starting rate have applied since 1 July 2026 on the car parks and in the garages; only in the Oosterpoort car park do they apply from 1 January 2027. At the library and the UWV on the Frieswijkstraat there is a blue zone with a maximum stay of 2 hours.
In Hoevelaken and Nijkerkerveen you will come across a blue zone in a number of places. In all other places in those villages you simply park for free, without a disc.
Paying for the time you park
Because Nijkerk charges per minute after the first half hour, it pays to let your parking action run exactly.
