High or low, that is the question
Roosendaal works in the city centre with two on-street rates. Which zone you are in determines whether you pay the high rate of € 2.65 per hour or the low rate of € 2.05 per hour. The difference per hour is small, but over an afternoon of shopping it adds up. If you stay longer, you are often better off with the day ticket of € 10.00: it applies on almost all parking spaces in the centre and even in the permit-holder streets. Only in the car parks, in Dr. van Dregtstraat and on Van Dregtplein you cannot use it.
Around and in the city centre there are five car parks: Nieuwe Markt, Biggelaar, Roselaar, Mill Hill and Liga. There you pay € 0.75 per 20 minutes, with an off-peak rate of € 1.25 per hour and a day ticket of € 10.00.
Paid hours, including Sunday
Roosendaal charges long days. From Monday to Thursday and on Saturday you pay from 09.00 to 20.00, on late-night shopping Friday even until 21.00, and on Sunday from 12.00 to 20.00, including shopping Sundays. One spot differs: at Emile van Loonpark paid parking runs from Monday to Thursday until 18.30 and on Saturday and Sunday until 17.00. On the official public holidays, from New Year's Day through Boxing Day, parking is free; on Good Friday from 18.30.
Paying on the street and in the app
On the street and on the parking sites you pay at the parking meter. If you do not want to walk to the meter, you can also pay by phone via an app. With SimplePark you start your session as soon as you are parked and you stop it when you drive off, so you pay by the minute instead of buying a block of time in advance. If you do stay the whole day, the day ticket remains the cheapest route of course.
