Blue zone or paid parking

Alphen aan den Rijn has two kinds of regulated parking. In the blue zones your car stands two hours free, provided you set a parking disc to your arrival time. You recognise such a zone by the blue stripe along the kerb or on the road. The arrangement applies Monday to Saturday between 9.00 and 17.00; in the Kerk en Zanen neighbourhood it only runs until 13.00. On public holidays and on days that count as Sunday, you do not have to set the disc.

There is also paid parking: on the street, in Castellum car park, on the parking decks and on the parking sites. Those rates are managed by ParkeerService; the P+R Sacharovlaan / Dwarsligger site is QPark's and has its own rate. Check the meter or the municipality's site for what applies at your spot.

Permits and visitors

For two of the blue zones, residents and businesses can apply for a parking permit at ParkeerService. For the other blue zones no permits are available; there the disc applies to everyone. If you have a disabled parking badge, you may stand unlimited in every blue zone.

Paying with your phone

If you are on a spot where you have to pay, you do not have to walk to the meter: with SimplePark you start the session on your phone and stop it when you drive away. You pay per minute, so you do not have to estimate in advance how long you will stay.
