SimplePark works in every Dutch municipality where paid street parking by licence plate applies. That is well over 170 of them, from the large cities to smaller places with a paid centre. So you do not need a different app per municipality: one account, one app, the whole country.
How that works
Dutch municipalities with paid parking are connected to one national system for mobile parking. Parking apps register sessions there, and enforcement in every municipality checks plates in that same system. A municipality that introduces paid parking by plate is almost always usable through SimplePark right away.
How to tell whether you can park
- Open the app on the Map tab.
- Tap the zone you are in; a card appears at the bottom with the zone's name and the code shown on the street.
- Tap Start action to open Parking zone and look at the Rates.
- If you find no zone, type the code from the sign next to your car into Search for a parking area.
If the app does not know the zone code from the sign, this is not a zone payable through a parking app. If the app says this parking location is currently not supported on our platform, the spot is known but we cannot register an action there yet. Either way, pay at the machine.
Overview per municipality
Our locations page shows per municipality where SimplePark works, with the zones on the map where available and a link to the municipality's own parking information. Handy to check ahead when you are heading to a city you rarely visit.
What is not covered
- Car parks and barrier-controlled sites. There you pay the operator.
- Private sites, such as a supermarket, hospital or company, with their own parking scheme.
- Abroad. SimplePark works exclusively in the Netherlands.
A missing municipality
If a municipality with paid parking by plate is not in the app, let us know at [email protected] with the name of the municipality and the zone code from the sign. We find out why and enable it as soon as possible.
