Before you start a parking action, the app shows what the municipality has set for that zone. It does so on the screen Parking zone. It is shorter than you would expect: at the top the zone with its code, below it any warnings, then the block you start from, and at the bottom the block Rates with the prices per day. There is no list of fields to work through.
How to open the zone information
- Open the app on the Map tab.
- Tap the zone you are in; a card appears at the bottom with the zone's name and its on-site code.
- Tap Start action to open the screen Parking zone.
- Use Previous day and Next day to page through the Rates per day.
To view another zone, tap it on the map, or look it up with Search for a parking area.
What the zone screen shows
- At the top, the zone's name, with the code from the sign and the ticket machine beside it. That is the value you compare with what you see on the street. If the zone has no name, it just says Parking zone.
- Warnings, and only when they apply. In a day-pass zone it says: "This is a day card zone. Once you start parking, you pay a fixed day rate." Others warn about an unusual rate that day, a time limit ("You can park at most until … due to time restrictions in this zone") or your balance ("With your current balance you can park until … at most."). "No tariff information is available for this location." means the municipality has not supplied us with rates for that zone yet.
- The block you start from, with the buttons Set end time and Start. Once you pick an end time it appears above them as "Until 17:30". If your balance is too low this block turns into Insufficient balance with the minimum amount you need; in a day-pass zone the button Top up balance then takes the place of Set end time. If your account is not complete, it turns into Finish setting up your account with Finish setup.
- Rates, what the municipality charges that day, split into time blocks. Outside those blocks parking is free and you do not need to start an action. At the bottom, where one unit applies for that day, it states how you are charged: "*You pay per 15 minutes". Page a few days ahead if you are parking at the weekend or in the evening: many municipalities apply different hours then. See Paid hours.
If the information does not match the sign
The data in the app comes from the municipality. If the sign differs from the app, after a recent change for instance, what the municipality has posted on site applies. Report the difference at [email protected] with the code from the sign and a photo of it; we look into it. Add the name of the zone as it appears in the app, and we find it straight away.
Comparing the rate with a zone further on
Zones often border on each other and the rate can be a lot lower one street away. Tap the neighbouring zone on the map and open its Rates too. Driving on a little can make a real difference on a long stay. Do bear in mind that a day-pass zone works differently: there you pay the whole day rate as soon as you start, however briefly you stay.
