With SimplePark you park on the street in every Dutch municipality where paid parking by licence plate applies. From Amsterdam to Groningen and from Maastricht to Leeuwarden: one app for the whole country, without a different app or a ticket machine per municipality.
Where the app works
- Paid street parking. All municipal paid zones where you can pay with a parking app. That is well over 170 cities and towns, and the number keeps growing.
- Day-pass zones. In some zones the municipality has set a fixed day rate. That is not a choice in the app but a property of the zone: the map shows the badge Day pass, and as soon as you start parking you pay that fixed day rate.

Where the app does not work yet
- Car parks and barrier-controlled sites. There you pay at the car park itself. Integrations with car parks are on our roadmap.
- Private sites and private parking spaces. For example a supermarket or hospital site with its own operator.
- Abroad. SimplePark only works in the Netherlands.
How to tell on the spot whether you can park
Open the app on the Map tab. You see the zones around you; tap the one you are in. If the screen Parking zone opens with Rates, you can pay here. If you find no zone, use the search field Search for a parking area and type the zone code from the sign next to your car. It often works after all.
If the app says this parking location is currently not supported on our platform, the national system knows the spot but we cannot register a session there yet. Pay at the machine instead.
Free parking
Outside paid hours, for instance late at night or on Sunday in many municipalities, you do not have to pay and so do not need to start a session. On the zone screen the arrows Previous day and Next day page through the rates per day, so you can see when payment is required. Outside the time blocks shown there, you do not need to start an action.
Permit areas
In permit-holder areas, visitors can often still pay to park, sometimes through a visitor scheme of the municipality. Always read the sign: if it says "permit holders" with no paid hours, you may not park there, not even with a running session.
