Parking in Dordrecht: rates, zones and hours

On-street parking in Dordrecht costs €2.10 to €9.80 per hour, depending on the area. In Weeskinderendijk car park a limit of € 1.00 for the first 24 hours, then € 0.50 per hour applies. Paid parking applies Mon–Sat 9:00–22:00 and Sunday 12:00–17:00. SimplePark knows all 67 parking zones of Dordrecht: start your session in the app, stop it when you leave and pay only for the time you parked. Free parking is available at Weeskinderendijk car park. Covered parking is available at Spuihaven. The municipality checks with a scan car, so your number plate has to be right. The rates come from the municipality and were checked on September 7, 2026. With SimplePark you start and stop the parking session in the app and pay by the minute, plus €0.29 in service costs per parking action.

Where to park in Dordrecht

Dordrecht wants visitors at the edges of the centre and has aligned the rates hard with that. At Weeskinderendijk car park the first 24 hours cost € 1.00; deeper into the city centre the hourly rate rises to € 4.90, and on Prinsenstraat and surroundings you pay after the first 40 minutes even € 9.80 per hour. The difference between the cheapest and the most expensive street is therefore huge. It pays to look in advance where you will end up.

If you prefer to stand under cover, four municipal car parks are available: Spuihaven, Achterom, Energiehuis and Riedijkshaven, all four open day and night. There you pay per minute and only by debit card. If you go to the Albert Schweitzer hospital or Sportboulevard, you park on the site opposite the hospital or in Sportboulevard car park, with its own stepped rate per visit.

Hours, area codes and Sunday

Paid parking applies from Monday to Saturday between 9.00 and 22.00 and on Sunday between 12.00 and 17.00. On Easter Monday, Ascension Day, Whit Monday and Boxing Day the same Sunday hours apply; on New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Whit Sunday and Christmas Day you park for free. Around the hospital, the police station and Rie Mastenbroekweg the payment obligation also runs on Sunday from 9.00 to 22.00.

Each area has a four-digit area code that is on the meter or on a sign. That code determines your rate, so always check that what you enter in your app matches what is on the post. In the permit-holder area between Prinsenstraat, Voorstraat, Steegoversloot and Spuihaven only a day ticket of € 39.20 exists. You pay that even if you stand there ten minutes.

Enforcement and paying by licence plate

On the street in Dordrecht you always pay by licence plate, at the meter or via a parking app. Enforcement scans your licence plate and so sees whether payment has been made; a wrongly entered plate yields a fine. With SimplePark you start your session as soon as you stop and stop it when you drive away, so you pay by the minute. In the car parks that does not work: there you settle at the payment machine before you drive out.
