Parking in Rotterdam: rates, zones and hours
On-street parking in Rotterdam costs €2.24 to €6.42 per hour, depending on the area. From November 1, 2026 that becomes €3.00 to €7.20 per hour.

The cheapest area is Outer neighborhoods and the most expensive is City center. Paid parking applies until 23:00, in the center Fri and Sat until 1:00. Where to park in Rotterdam
Rotterdam charges in three rings. In the center you pay the high rate, in the neighborhoods around it the mid rate and in the outer neighborhoods the low rate. If you come into town for an afternoon, you would do well to leave the car at a P+R on the edge. Some sites are always free; at the others you park free only if you travel there and back by public transport or take a shared-mobility ride. By tram or metro you are then in the center quickly. If you do want to go into the center, the municipal car parks are cheaper than the street.
From 1 November 2026 higher on-street rates apply: € 7.20 per hour in the center, € 5.00 in the neighborhoods around it and € 3.00 in the outer neighborhoods.
Going to De Kuip? Zone 900 around the stadium charges the center's high rate on match and event days. On other days it is an ordinary outer neighborhood.
Until when you pay
In many neighborhoods paid parking applies until 23:00; in the center area on Friday and Saturday even until 01:00. On New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Whit Sunday and Christmas Day on-street parking is free. On the other public holidays, such as Easter Monday, King's Day and Boxing Day, the Sunday hours apply, which you find on the meter and on the municipality's parking map. Anyone coming home in the evening in a residential neighborhood has a better chance of a space as a result; that is the point of the policy.
Enforcement
Rotterdam checks with scan cars. The meter no longer issues a ticket: you enter your license plate or start a parking action in the app, and the scan car reads your license plate. A typo in your license plate therefore means a parking fine. If you forget to stop your parking action, you keep paying.
