Where to park in Gorinchem
The Linge splits the fortress town in two, and you see that in the rates. In the Benedenstad (west of the Linge) and the Bovenstad you pay the highest rate on the street; on the sites at the edge of the city centre the hourly rate is about half. Paardenwater and Buiten de Waterpoort also have a daily maximum, so there you know in advance what a long afternoon in town costs.
The most expensive spaces sit in the middle of the shopping area: Groenmarkt, Achter de Kerk and Zusterhuis. Watch Monday there: on Groenmarkt and Achter de Kerk a parking ban then applies until the afternoon, because the square is used for other things. Hours differ per site

Buiten de Waterpoort already stops at 18.00, Stadhuisplein applies only on weekdays until 18.00, and in the Bovenstad paid parking actually runs every day until midnight. The car parks have their own window again: until 17.00, on Thursday until 20.00, and outside that you stand there for free.
