Where to park in Gorinchem

The Linge splits the fortress town in two, and you see that in the rates. In the Benedenstad (west of the Linge) and the Bovenstad you pay € 3.32 per hour on the street; on the sites at the edge of the city center the hourly rate is about half. Paardenwater and Buiten de Waterpoort also have a daily maximum, so there you know in advance what a long afternoon in town costs.

The most expensive spaces sit in the middle of the shopping area: Groenmarkt, Achter de Kerk and Zusterhuis. Watch out on Monday: on Groenmarkt and Achter de Kerk a parking ban then applies until 17.00. If you want to be sure of a space, drive into one of the two car parks.

Hours differ per site

In Gorinchem the paid hours differ per location. On most spaces in the Benedenstad you pay from Monday to Saturday between 10.00 and 22.00 and on Sunday between 12.30 and 17.00. At Buiten de Waterpoort it already stops at 18.00, at Stadhuisplein you only pay on weekdays, until 18.00, and in the Bovenstad paid parking actually runs every day until midnight. The car parks have their own hours: until 17.00, on Thursday until 20.00, and outside those hours you park there for free.

On New Year's Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day parking is free throughout the town.

Paying and enforcement

At the meter you pay by debit card or Dip&Go; in the Kweeklust and Kazerneplein car parks you pay afterwards, also with the Gastvrij Gorinchempas. On the Groenmarkt, Paardenwater, Stadhuisplein and Bagijnenwal sites you can use that pass as well. In the car parks watch the clearance height of 2.00 meters.
