Two zones, two ways to pay
Etten-Leur works with two tariff zones that differ not only in price, but also in how you pay. Zone 1 is the zone for visitors: there are parking meters where you enter your licence plate. A ticket behind the windscreen is not needed; the officers check by licence plate. The hourly rate is € 2.55, and anyone who stays at most 15 minutes pays nothing. For a full day you buy a day ticket of € 10.20.
Zone 2 is there primarily for residents. There are no meters, so as a visitor you can only use it with a day ticket via a parking app, and that costs € 12.75. If you just want a short shop, zone 1 is almost always the place to be.
Paid hours and free days
The paid hours are the same in both zones. From Monday to Thursday and on Saturday you pay between 9.00 and 18.00. On Friday, the late-night shopping evening, it runs until 21.00. On a shopping Sunday paid parking applies between 11.00 and 18.00.
On a series of public holidays parking is free throughout the paid-parking area: New Year's Day, both Easter days, King's Day, Ascension Day, both Whit days and both Christmas days. There is also one place that is free on late-night shopping evenings: the car park on Anna van Berchemlaan. If you visit someone with a visitor parking permit, they register your licence plate and you pay at most € 1.00 for your visit.
Paying by licence plate
Because Etten-Leur works entirely by licence plate, a parking app is the easiest route: you don't need to go to the meter and you pay by the minute. With SimplePark you start your session as soon as you stop and you stop it when you drive away, so you never pay more than the time you actually stood there. In zone 2 an app is even the only way to buy a day ticket.
