Parking in Zaltbommel: rates, zones and hours

Four colours, four rules

Zaltbommel keeps it clear: the city centre is divided into four colour zones, and the colour determines what you pay. In the orange zone, the area around Gamerschestraat, Nieuwstraat, Kerkplein and Waalkade, the highest rate of € 1.48 per hour applies. In the green zone on the edge an hour costs € 0.88: Veerweg, Havendijk, Oude Wasserij and the last stretch of Waalkade. The blue zone is free with a parking disc, and on the grey sites Beersteeg and Rotterdamse Bol your car is free all week.

If you go into town for an hour, you can therefore choose: close to the Markt at the highest rate, a bit cheaper along the harbour, or free with the disc on the Markt itself. If you do not know the town, look at the sign at your parking bay: the colour is marked there and the municipality's map shows per street which rule applies.

Hours and the blue zone

Paid parking applies in orange and green from Monday to Saturday between 9.00 and 18.00. Outside those hours, so in the evening and at night, you park free everywhere. On Sunday and on official public holidays the whole city centre is free.

On the Markt, in Waterstraat and in the stretch of Boschstraat between Markt and Ruiterstraat a blue zone applies. There you stay at most one hour, free, with a parking disc. Set the disc to your arrival time, rounded to the next half or full hour: if you arrive at 9.10, you set it to 9.30. Outside the window hours and on public holidays you do not need to use the disc.

Paying and enforcement

At the meter you can pay by card or with coins, but you can also simply use your phone. With SimplePark you start the session as soon as you are parked and you stop it when you drive away; you pay by the minute, so you do not have to guess how long you will be inside. Enforcement regularly checks whether your licence plate is registered or your ticket is valid, and in the blue zone whether the disc is set correctly and the hour has not passed.
