Where to park in Harderwijk

Harderwijk parks almost entirely on numbered sites: from P2 on Ir. Lelykade to P19 Westeinde, with underground car park P14 Houtwal and the large P+R site Zonneweide in between. The rate is the same everywhere, so the choice is not about money but about where you need to be. The municipality publishes three maps, for residents, visitors and employees, so you can see in advance which site belongs with your visit.

If you come for the city centre, P14 Houtwal, P11 Vuldersbrink and P17 Klooster are closest. If you come for the Dolfinarium, the harbour or the boulevard, P8 P+R Zonneweide is the logical choice: almost 1,600 spaces, room for campers, a public toilet and in summer a shuttle train to the boulevard. P10 Waltorenstraat and P15 Hortus are only for permit holders, and P7 on Jan Krulkade only opens mid-2027.

Hours, maximum duration and the weekly market

Paid parking applies every day from 8.00 to 21.00, with one hourly rate and one daily maximum. On a number of sites you may stand for at most three hours: P5 Strandboulevard, P6 Zuiderzeeboulevard, P13 Selhorstweg and Waterfront sectors 30 to 37. P5 is also seasonal and only open from 1 November to 1 April.

Watch Saturday. On P17 Klooster a towing scheme applies during the weekly market: if your car stands there between midnight and 14.30, it is towed. For P14 Houtwal something else applies: you can enter between 7.30 and 22.00, and exit with a valid parking ticket all day.

Paying and enforcement

Cash no longer works anywhere in Harderwijk. You pay at the meter with a debit card or credit card, or digitally via a parking app; for P2 and P8 you can buy a parking ticket online in advance. If you do not pay or pay too little, an additional parking-tax assessment follows that runs via Meerinzicht. If you stand in a place where you may not stand at all, it is a traffic fine from the CJIB.

With SimplePark you start your session as soon as you stop and you stop it when you drive away, and you pay by the minute. Handy on a day at the boulevard, where you rarely know in advance whether it will be two hours or a whole afternoon.
