Where and when you pay in Barneveld
Paid parking applies in and around the center of Barneveld, Monday to Saturday between 9.00 and 18.00. After that it is free, including on late-night shopping evenings. One exception: in De Heus Plein car park you pay in the evening too. At two car parks you always park free, De Vetkamp and Theaterplein, both within walking distance of the center.
If you need to be in the villages you do not need a meter at all: in De Glind, Garderen, Kootwijk, Kootwijkerbroek, Stroe, Terschuur, Voorthuizen and Zwartebroek parking is free.
Gowthorpeplein works differently
On Gowthorpeplein there are no barriers but cameras. You pay there afterwards at the parking meter or through a parking app on your phone. That also means the disabled parking badge gives no exemption there: everywhere in the municipality you park free with that badge, except on Gowthorpeplein and on spots behind a barrier or with pay-on-exit.
Paying with your phone
In the center of Barneveld you can pay with a parking app. You register your plate, check in when you arrive and check out again when you leave, so you only pay for the time you were there. With pay-by-phone parking you pass on the zone number that is on the parking meter. With SimplePark it works the same: start a parking action as soon as you have parked, stop it when you drive away.
Watch the signs outside marked bays
Along a broken yellow line and on a home zone or shopping precinct outside the bays you may park for max. 3 hours, with a parking disc. Never park in a bay with a name or plate on it: that is a reserved spot.
