Parking in Lelystad: rates, zones and hours

Where to park in Lelystad

Paid parking in Lelystad only applies in the Stadshart, Lelycentre and on the coast, and within that the town is split into colour zones. That colour determines your rate and is on the signs along the road. On the street green is the most expensive at € 1.80 per hour; in the yellow area, Noorderwagenplein, Snijdershof and Maerlant, you pay € 1.00 per hour and get through a whole day on € 4.00.

If you want to stand under cover, Zilverpark, Neringweg and De Waag car parks and the Agoradek and hospital sites are the purple area: € 1.80 per hour with a daily maximum of € 8.00, and you may stand there for up to fourteen days in a row. At Bataviahaven a rule of its own applies: long-stay site P6 costs € 4.50 per day.

Hours, Sundays and the exception

The clock runs from Monday through Saturday from 9.00 to 18.00. On late-night shopping, Thursday evening in the Stadshart, you pay through until 21.00. On Sundays and public holidays parking is free, except in the pink area, because at Bataviahaven you pay 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Besides New Year's Day and Christmas, Good Friday, Easter, King's Day, Liberation Day and Pentecost also count as a public holiday.

In the blue area, among others at Kubus parking site and at Gezondheidscentrum Heelhoek, there is no meter to be found: there you simply put down a parking disc.

Paying by licence plate

At the meters on the street you park by licence plate: you enter your licence plate and no longer put a ticket behind the windscreen. In the car parks your licence plate is linked to your ticket when you drive in, so the barrier opens by itself after payment. Do keep your ticket, you need it for the pedestrian entrance.
