If you stay longer than an hour in the center, a car park is almost always the better choice. Gooiland and Gooische Brink sit in the middle of the center and charge € 2.77 per hour, per 5 minutes. A day from 8.00 to 18.00 costs € 9.64 there and an evening € 6.41. On the street the maximum in the center runs up to € 82.00 per 24 hours, so a car that is accidentally left there for a full day is an expensive mistake.

Until midnight, and on Sunday only in the center

Paid hours in Hilversum last longer than you expect from a mid-sized town: from Monday through Saturday paid parking runs until 24.00. In the center that also applies on Sunday, between 12.00 and 24.00. In the inner-ring zones and the shopping streets Sunday is free, as are the official public holidays. At Zeverijnstraat business park it is exactly the other way around: there you pay at night, until 1 November 2026 from Sunday through Thursday between 21.00 and 7.00 and on Friday between 00.00 and 7.00. From 1 November 2026 that applies to all of Zuidwest business park, which includes Zeverijnstraat, and runs until 5.00 instead of 7.00. You do not pay there on Saturday.

The municipality checks with a scan car that drives down the street and reads the license plates of parked cars. So there is no ticket behind your windscreen to save you: it comes down to whether your license plate is registered as paid at that moment.
