In Edge of the town a limit of € 3.20 for the whole day applies. Paid parking applies city center Mon–Sat 9:00–20:00, Sun 12:00–20:00. Parking is free on public holidays. Where to park in Hoorn

Hoorn charges in rings. Parking is cheapest at the edge of the town: at P+R Transferium by the station, Pelmolenpad, the RAC location on Johan Messchaertstraat and on Visserseiland a whole day costs € 3.20. If you would rather not walk that far, the ring around the city center at € 2 per hour and a daily maximum of € 5.50 is a good in-between; Het Park and 't Jeudje car parks are there too. In the city center itself you pay the most: € 3.50 for the first hour and then € 5.50 per hour.

Free is possible too, but not right by the shops. Nieuwe Wal parking site, Schellinkhouterdijk, Kievit, Palissade and De Westfries ice rink cost nothing, and from 1 October through 31 March you park for free at the city beach.

Paid hours and the Vredehofstraat sites

In and around the city center paid parking runs from Monday through Saturday from 9.00 to 20.00, and on Sunday from 12.00 to 20.00. At the edge of the town the clock already stops at 18.00 and Sunday is free. The three sites on Vredehofstraat have their own rules: from Monday through Friday between 9.00 and 18.00 the first 4 hours there are free, provided you register your license plate at the meter or in an app and deregister it again afterwards. If you forget, you are charged the day rate after all. At the Vomar there are also fifteen spaces in a blue zone where you may park for an hour with a disc.

Paying and the zone number

License-plate parking applies everywhere, and you pay per minute up to the daily maximum of your area. Before you pay, check which zone number is on the meter: in Hoorn expensive permit-holder areas and cheaper visitor spaces sit right next to each other, and the zone number determines what you pay.
