Where to park in Katwijk
Katwijk is a seaside town, and you see that in the rates: the closer to the sea and the Boulevard, the more expensive. On the street you pay € 3.10 per hour. The large dune sites Noordduinen and Zuidduinen are at € 1.90 per hour well over half as cheap, and there you can stay as long as you like with a day ticket of € 10.20 or a week ticket of € 35.80. For a beach day those sites are therefore the logical choice.
The three municipal car parks, Boulevard-Zeezijde, Princehaven and Tramstraat, are open 24 hours a day and seven days a week and charge the same hourly rate as the dune sites. If you linger in the evening for dinner or going out, the fixed night rate between 19.00 and 9.00 is worth looking at.
Paying every day, and sometimes only 90 minutes
Unlike most municipalities Katwijk has no free Sunday: the payment obligation runs every day from 9.00 to 21.00. On Good Friday, at Easter, Ascension Day and Pentecost you also have to pay on the street as usual. Only New Year's Day and both Christmas Days are free on the street.
In the shopping heart there is also a maximum parking duration of 90 minutes, among others on part of the Boulevard, in Koningin Wilhelminastraat, Noordeinde, Dwarsstraat and a stretch of Voorstraat. On Koninginneweg paid parking stops at 18.00; after that the street is for permit holders.
Off-season it is cheaper
Between 1 October and 31 March Katwijk flips the switch: at Noordduinen and Zuidduinen the first two hours then cost € 0.10, and in the car parks the first two hours those months are free. At the meter you pay with PIN, credit card or your phone. With SimplePark you start the session as soon as you stop and stop it when you drive off, so you pay per minute and do not have to guess in advance how long you will stay on the beach.
