Where to park in Sittard-Geleen
Sittard-Geleen has two centers and two price tags. In and around Sittard's center you pay the same hourly rate at the meter and in the car parks, with one important difference: in a car park the meter runs up to a day maximum, at a parking meter it does not. So if you stay longer than a few hours, drive into the car park. On the edges are the cheapest options, Odaparking and Steenweg, with a low day amount. Around the station and on Tempelplein you pay the most; parking there is meant for a short stay.
In Geleen the hourly rate at the meter is a lot lower. The Marktgarage is the most attractive spot for a visit to the center, because the first 2 hours are free every day of the week, Saturday included. If you need to go to Zuyderland hospital, you park in the car park next to the hospital, with its own day rate.
Until when you pay and on which days
Paid parking applies from Monday to Saturday between 9.00 and 19.00 and on late-night shopping evenings until 22.00. On Sunday you pay between 12.00 and 18.00: the trial with free Sunday parking in Sittard is over, so do not count on it any more. At the Stadssporthal in Sittard different hours apply: on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9.00 to 16.00 and on Wednesday from 9.00 to 13.00.
Outside the paid areas there are blue zones. There you park free with a parking disc, but the maximum parking time differs per zone; it is on the supplementary sign by the traffic sign at the start of the zone.
