Parking in Veere: rates, zones and hours
On-street parking in Veere costs €2.30 to €5.95 per hour, depending on the area. In Rate zone E a limit of day ticket € 11.50 applies. Paid parking applies 1 March to 31 October, daily 9:00–19:00; from November to February free. Five letters, five rates
Veere has no centre with a parking ring, but a coastline with dozens of car parks, from Dishoek and Zoutelande to Domburg, Westkapelle and Veersedam. Each site has been given a rate zone, marked with a letter on a white sign above the meter. E is the cheapest at € 2.30 per hour and a day ticket of € 11.50, D sits at € 2.95 and € 14.75, and B at € 3.65 and € 18.25.
Two categories stand out. The site at Jumbo/MFA in Zoutelande has the U rate of € 5.95 per hour, deliberately high to discourage day tourists who stay parked there all day. And at Sportveld in Domburg and the rear part of De Branding in Zoutelande it works the other way round: during the day between 9:00 and 23:00 your car stands there free, and for the night you buy a night ticket of € 22.20.
The season decides whether you pay
More important than the letter is the calendar. On all public car parks with paid parking a seasonal window applies from 1 March to 31 October and paid hours from 9:00 to 19:00. From November to February those sites are not paid. If you drive to the coast in winter, you therefore have nothing to arrange.
For the permit-holder zones it is different. In Dishoek, Joossesweg and Zoutelande that period runs from 1 March to 31 October, but then 24 hours a day; in Domburg and Veere the zone applies all year round. As a visitor you can buy a day ticket there, but it costs € 55.55: the municipality would rather not have you there. A paid car park is always cheaper.
Free spots and paying
Fully free is still possible too. In Veere the site on Veerseweg is not paid, in Domburg the site at the football club on Roosjesweg between 9:00 and 23:00, in Zoutelande the rear part of De Branding at Kustlicht I in the same hours, and in Westkapelle the stretch of outer-dike slope between Noorderhoofd lighthouse and the dike stairs at Hogeweg.
