In Lei, Braak-Noord and -Zuid, Meent-Noord and -Zuid, Meiveld and Geer car parks you can stay 120 minutes with a parking disc. Two hours free, and only then the meter

Veldhoven is for the most part a free municipality: outside the Citycentrum and the zones around it you simply put your car down. And in the centre it starts free too. On the car parks in and around the Citycentrum and in Geer car park your car stands the first 2 hours without charge. Only after that the meter counts, and then only on the Repel and Bree sites and in the car park.

There is one condition on those free hours, and that is where it often goes wrong: you must always take a ticket from the meter or switch on phone parking, even if you only stay twenty minutes. Without registration the attendant cannot see that you fall within the free time. The free time is automatically deducted from your parking duration, so you never pay twice.

Short-stay with a disc

Around the Citycentrum lies a ring of blue zones. On the Lei, Braak-Noord and -Zuid, Meent-Noord and -Zuid (covered under the Citypassage), Meiveld and Geer car parks by the police station you stay a maximum of 2 hours free with a blue parking disc visible behind your windscreen. Around Kromstraat shopping centre there is also a blue zone; if you want to stay longer there, use the free De Plaatse car park on Dorpstraat.

Paid parking and the blue zones apply from Monday to Thursday from 9:00 to 18:00, on Friday and other late-night shopping until 21:00 and on Saturday again until 18:00. On Sunday and public holidays you park free.

If you stay longer, and how you pay

If you stay longer than 2 hours, Repel and Bree are the designated sites: € 1.30 per hour, or € 4.00 for the whole day. In Geer car park you pay the same hourly rate but there is no day rate. You can enter that car park daily between 8:00 and 23:00; you can exit around the clock, provided you have your parking ticket with you to open the visitor entrance after 23:00.

At the meter you pay with a debit card, in the car park also with coins. With SimplePark you start a session instead as soon as you stand still and stop it when you drive off. You pay per minute, and the session is immediately the registration you need here anyway.
