Where to park in Weert

In Weert city centre parking is paid, and the rate is the same everywhere: € 1.70 per hour and € 6.60 for a full day. Only the P+R site on Parallelweg falls outside that rule; that is run by Q-Park and has its own rates. On-street and in the car park you therefore pay the same per hour, which makes the choice mainly a matter of walking distance.

The maximum parking time does differ. The municipality marks that on its parking map: in the streets marked blue, among them Beekstraat, Hegstraat, Korenmarkt, Emmasingel and Wilhelminasingel, you may stay at most two hours. In the streets marked red and on the car park on Dries there is no maximum. If you stay longer, a car park is best: Centrum-Noord, Poort van Limburg, Muntgarage, Centrumgarage, Walburgpassage and Stationspleingarage are open day and night, Ursulinengarage from 6.00 to 23.00.

Zone numbers per street

Weert is one of the few municipalities that publishes the zone number per street. You need that number if you pay by phone. So Emmasingel falls under zone 20650, Beekstraat and Hoogpoort under 20651, Patronaatsplein under 20652, the parking deck of Collegeplein under 20653, Oud Gasthuisplein under 20655, Biest under 20658 and Kromstraat under 20672. The number is also on the parking meter.

Hours and paying

On-street paid parking applies from Monday to Saturday between 9.00 and 18.00. On late-night shopping, on (shopping) Sundays and on official public holidays you pay nothing on-street. Late-night shopping is Thursday evening. In a car park or on a barrier site you pay 24 hours a day.

At the meter you can usually pay with coins, debit card or credit card, but on a number of meters and in Stationspleingarage and Poort van Limburg only the debit card works.
