Roermond in letters and P-numbers
Roermond works with two systems side by side. On the street, parking areas with a letter apply: A is the city centre and the most expensive spot at € 2.80 per hour, B is the Singelring and Spoorzone West, C consists of Roerzicht and Voorstad St. Jacob and D of Buitenop and Maashaven: in those three you pay € 1.90 per hour. Area E, Spoorzone Oost with Vrijveld and the Roermondse Veld, is the cheapest: there the first hour is free and after that it costs € 1.70 per hour. At a number of spots with a red dot, short stay of a maximum of 30 minutes applies.
On top of that there are the numbered P-locations: car parks such as P0 Kazerneplein and P7 Stationspark, the Q-Park car parks P5 Roercenter and P10 Oranjerie, and sites such as P1 Maashaven, P2 Arlo, P12 Wilhelminaplein and P14 at the ECI. If you continue by train or want to avoid the centre, you can use the P+R sites P9 Godsweerdersingel and P11 Veeladingstraat.
Until 22.00, since January
Since 1 January 2026 paid parking in the city centre, along the singelring, in Roerzicht, Voorstad St. Jacob, Buitenop/Looskade and Maashaven/Arlo runs until 22.00 instead of 20.00. Concretely: in areas A through D you pay from Monday to Saturday from 08.00 to 22.00 and on Sunday from 12.00 to 22.00. In area E the same days apply, but until 20.00. Watch the maximum registration duration per parking session: if you stay longer, the hourly rate doubles.
Everything on licence plate
At the parking meters in Roermond you no longer get a paper ticket; everything goes digitally on licence plate, so you no longer need to put anything behind your windscreen. On the street and on the sites you can only pay by card at the meter; in the Kazerneplein and Stationspark car parks cash is also possible. Never put your trust in a QR code on the meter: the municipality does not use those, and fraudsters stick overlays on them.
With SimplePark you start your session on your phone as soon as you are parked and you stop it when you drive off, after which you pay by the minute. That is practical in a city where the rate differs per area and per parking session.
