Reminder before your parking time ends

By default you get a push message a quarter of an hour before your end time. You can set that lead time to 5 to 60 minutes, and add email to it.

Every parking session has an end time; without one you cannot start. A quarter of an hour before it passes, the app sends you a push message, so you can extend in time or walk back to your car. That quarter of an hour is the default, not a fixed value: under Profile › Notifications you drag the group Parking ends soon to anywhere between 5 and 60 minutes ahead, in steps of five.

What you get and when

Your phone shows a push notification that your parking activity ends soon, with the number of minutes and the time underneath. The same warning belongs to a zone with a municipal maximum parking duration: there too your session ends at a fixed moment. The text says which of the two applies. See Maximum parking duration.

By default the warning is push only. If you want it by email as well, switch Email on for that same group; you then get an email saying in how many minutes your parking action ends. Switch Push notification off and you get no warning at all before your time runs out.

What to do with the notification

  1. Tap the notification; the app opens at your running session.
  2. If you are staying longer, tap Extend and choose a new end time.
  3. If you are leaving earlier after all, tap Stop and confirm.

If you stop earlier, the price is recalculated and whatever you had reserved too much stays on your balance. If you extend, the warning counts down again to the new end time: you get it once for every end time you set. How extending works is in Extending your parking time.

When the end time passes

Your session is then ended for you and you get a message that your parking activity was stopped automatically, by default both by push and by email. That email names the zone and the licence plate, and says whether it was your own end time or the municipality's maximum duration. Shortly afterwards your parking receipt arrives with the confirmation attached. Those three belong to the group Parking ended, so you decide the channels for them too.

Two kinds of reminders

Besides this warning you can get separate reminders while your session runs: that is the group Active parking action, every hour by default and push only. The two do not clash: just before the end the app holds back the recurring reminder, so you do not get a message saying your session is running moments after the warning that it is about to stop.

If more than one session is running, you get a separate warning for each. If nothing arrives at all, see I am not receiving notifications.
