Removing a vehicle

A car you no longer park with, you take out of your account. That keeps the list short and stops you accidentally picking a vehicle you no longer have. Removing is free and has no effect on your balance or your invoices.

How to remove a vehicle

The app first asks "Are you sure you want to delete this vehicle?" Once you confirm, the vehicle is gone from the list and you cannot start a new parking action with it.

What happens afterwards

If this was your default vehicle, the vehicle you have had longest takes over that role. If you have only one car left, that one is the default by itself. Remove your only vehicle and you cannot park until you add a new one. Tap a zone on the map and, instead of the start time, you get Finish setting up your account, with the text "You need to complete onboarding before you can park here" and the Finish setup button.

Your parking actions and invoices stay exactly as they were. Under Activities you still find the actions of a removed vehicle, licence plate and all, and nothing changes on your invoices. The only thing you can no longer do is start an action with it.

Sold the car or returned the hire car

Remove the vehicle on the day you hand the car over or return it. If it stays in your list you can pick it by accident and pay for someone else's car, while your own car stands there unpaid. The other way round there is nothing to worry about: if someone buys your old car and puts the plate in their own account, the same plate may sit in two accounts.

A typo in the licence plate

A vehicle's plate cannot be edited. If a character is wrong, you remove the vehicle and add it again with the right characters; see Adding your first vehicle. Before removing it, check under Activities whether parking actions already ran on the wrong plate. Those were paid for, but they are worthless to enforcement: the parking was paid on a plate that is not your car's. See also Managing your vehicles.
