Paid parking does not apply around the clock. The municipality sets per zone on which days and between which hours you have to pay: the paid hours. A zone can, for instance, be paid Monday to Saturday between 09:00 and 21:00 and free on Sunday. The app knows those hours and only counts the minutes within paid hours.
Viewing paid hours
Select the zone in the app and open the zone information. It shows today's paid hours and those of the coming days. On the street they are on the sub-sign under the blue P, for example "ma t/m za 9-21 h" (Monday to Saturday, 9 to 21). See Viewing zone information in the app.
Outside paid hours
If you park outside paid hours, you do not have to pay and do not need to start a session. In the rate table for the zone those hours appear as Free rows with their times, so you can see when paid hours start again.
A session that runs past the end of paid hours
Start at 20:30 in a zone that is paid until 21:00 and stop at 22:00, and you pay only for the 30 minutes until 21:00. The minutes after that are free and the app does not count them. It works the other way round too: start at 08:45 in a zone that begins at 09:00 and you pay from 09:00.
So you only pay today's paid minutes and, if you leave after tomorrow's start time, tomorrow's. The app does limit the end time you can pick, though: start within paid hours and you cannot go beyond the end of those hours. An end time is never more than 24 hours ahead, it moves in five-minute steps, and it lies at least half an hour after your start time unless the zone allows less.
Service fee
We charge the € 0.29 service fee per session in which you actually pay to park. If you start a session that falls entirely outside paid hours, we charge no service fee.
Different rates per time of day
Within paid hours the rate can differ per time of day, for example € 4 in the daytime and € 2 in the evening. If your session spans such a change, the app bills each part at the rate in force at that moment. See How the parking rate is set.
Public holidays
On public holidays paid hours often differ. One municipality applies the Sunday schedule, another the normal one. See Public holidays and deviating hours.
