Where to park in Almelo
Almelo is split into three parts: in the center you pay, around it lie blue zones where you may park for 1 hour with a disc, and beyond that you park free with no time limit. If you come for the shops, you are better off driving straight into a car park. That is cheaper than the street: in the car park you pay € 2 for the first and second hour and € 1 for the third and fourth, with a maximum of € 6 per day, while on the street after the first hour you pay € 3.00 per hour.
On Thursday, Friday and Saturday the first 2 hours are even free in the Havenpassage deck P14, StadsBaken P9 and Stadserf P1, P2 and P3 car parks. After that you pay the ordinary rate from the third hour. If you stay all day, for instance because you continue by train, a long-stay car park or JavaPark P12 is more convenient.
Paid hours and the blue zones
Paid parking applies Monday to Saturday between 9.00 and 18.00, and on Thursday until 21.00. The same hours apply in the blue zones, where you may park for max. 1 hour with a parking disc. In the hospitality area those hours differ: Monday to Wednesday the disc applies between 9.00 and 18.00, and from Thursday 9.00 the arrangement runs through to Sunday morning 7.00. There too you may park for max. 1 hour.
