Where to park in Hengelo
Hengelo has three car parks in and around the center, a Q-Park site at the station, more than 900 on-street spaces and thirteen separate blue-zone spots. On the street and on the parking sites there is one standard rate of € 1.00 per 27 minutes; on the sites you can also buy a day ticket for € 8.80. The sites are spread across the center, including at Ir. M. Schefferlaan, Wolter ten Catestraat, Sherwood Rangers, Eikstraat and Mitchamplein.
The municipality itself runs De Beurs car park, with the entrance on B.P. Hofstedestraat between the market square, the library and the theater. There you pay € 0.50 per 14 minutes, with a day rate of € 11.10 and a night rate of a maximum of € 7 between 18.00 and 5.00. The other car parks, Thiemsbrug and De Brink, and the Q-Park site at the station each have their own rate. All car parks are a short walk from the shops, the weekly market, the theater, the cinema and the town hall.
Times and the Sunday trap
Paid on-street parking applies from Monday through Friday between 9.00 and 18.00 and on Saturday between 9.00 and 17.00, with late-night shopping on Thursday until 21.00. On Sunday and on public holidays on-street parking is free. Watch the exception that surprises many visitors: in the car parks you have to pay every day, including Sundays and public holidays. For a quick errand there are the blue-zone spaces, where you can park for free for half an hour with a disc.
Paying by phone
