Where to park in Amstelveen

Paid parking in Amstelveen does not apply in the whole municipality, but in a number of designated areas. Rate and maximum stay differ per area, so two streets further on a different amount and a different end time can apply. There are also blue zones, where you stand with a parking disc, and permit-holder areas for residents.

The municipality works with a digital parking map instead of a rates list. On it you tick what you want to see: parking spaces, parking meters or permit-holder areas. Then you click an area for the hours and the rate. The P symbols on that map are the parking meters; if you click one, you see what parking costs there. If you prefer to look on the spot, the same amount is on the meter.

Stadshart and the blue zones

If you come for Stadshart, a car park is usually the quietest choice. Around the shopping area there are four: Stadsplein with the entrance on Keizer Karelweg at Sandbergplein, Schouwburg above the bus station, Handelsplein on Van Heuven Goedhartlaan and Buitenplein with the entrance on Meander. That way you do not have to hunt along the street in the busiest part of Amstelveen.

On ten national public holidays parking in Amstelveen is free: New Year's Day, both Easter days, King's Day, Liberation Day, Ascension Day, both Whit days and both Christmas days. Outside those days the hours of your area apply as usual.

Paying with your phone

Because the rates and the maximum stay differ per area, paying per minute is pleasant here.
