With SimplePark you start and stop the parking session in the app and pay by the minute, plus €0.29 in service costs per parking action.

Where you pay in Diemen

Diemen is split into pieces that each have their own regime. In the centre and at De Omval car park you pay € 1.90 per hour. In the Bergwijkpark office district the rate is lower, at € 1.20 per hour, with a day ticket of € 9.60 for anyone standing there the whole working day. Around Muiderstraatweg a striking construction applies: the first two hours parking costs only € 0.10 per hour there, then the rate jumps to € 1.90. A short shop is therefore almost free, staying long is not.

In addition there is a permit-holder area in the centre. Visitors can stand there, but only with a day ticket of € 25.00. Around the centre there are blue zones where you may stand free for two hours with a parking disc.

Hours and exceptions

The rules for paid parking, the blue zone and the permit-holder area apply from Monday to Saturday between 9.00 and 21.00. On Sundays and public holidays you need do nothing: no disc, no payment. A few spots deviate. At the car park behind De Omval and in the paid zone at Muiderstraatweg the arrangement only runs until 19.00, and in Bergwijkpark it applies only on weekdays, from 7.00 to 19.00.

The blue zones have exceptions too. At Sporthal Diemen and Sportcentrum Duran you may stay four hours, handy if you come for sport, and in the shopping area on Arent Krijtstraat only one hour.

Enforcement and paying

Diemen checks with a scan car that reads licence plates. There is no longer a ticket behind your windscreen; you get it a few days later by post. So enter your licence plate carefully, and pick the right zone code: it differs per area and determines what you pay. With SimplePark you start your parking session as soon as you stop and stop it when you drive away, so you pay by the minute and do not settle too much if you leave earlier than expected.
