Where to park in Leeuwarden
The north-western part of Leeuwarden's city centre is low-traffic, so you do not just drive in by car. Visitors therefore park mainly in one of the six car parks around the centre: P-Zaailand, P-Oldehove, P-Klanderij, P-Hoeksterend, P-Oosterstraat and P-Revius. Rates and opening hours differ per car park, so check in advance which is closest to your destination.

Leeuwarden uses long paid hours. In the centre paid parking applies from Monday through Saturday from 8.00 to 22.00, so the clock already starts running early in the morning, and in the evening it only stops late. On Sunday and on public holidays you pay between 12.00 and 18.00. Public holidays include New Year's Day, Easter, King's Day, Ascension Day, Pentecost and Christmas.
Outside the centre there are blue zones. There you put down a parking disc and keep to the maximum parking duration on the signs; that differs per area. On public holidays you do not need to use a disc in a blue zone.
