Where to park in Meppel

Meppel sits centrally in the north of the Netherlands and is quickly reachable by car via the A28 and the A32. Around the historic city centre lies a ring of parking spaces, all a few minutes' walk from the shops. The best known are P1 Stadhuis/centre on the Molenpad and De Boompjes, P2 Keyserstroom car park on the Noteboomstraat, P3 Kromme Elleboog car park, P4 at the Ogterop theatre with the entrance on the Weerdstraat, and P5 on the Kratonstraat.

There are also sites at the edge of the centre: the Ezingerweg, Bleekerseiland and the Havenstraat, Blankenstein, the Lidl parking deck, the Swaenenborgh parking deck and the car parks at the Albert Heijn and on the Vledderstraat. Unlimited stay, pay afterwards

At P1 and in the Keyserstroom car park Meppel uses pay-afterwards. You may stay as long as you like and settle on departure: € 1.70 per hour, with a day ticket of € 6.80 as a ceiling. That is convenient if you do not know how long your visit will last: you do not have to estimate the time in advance and you never pay more than the day amount.

If you want to park in the car park on the Noteboomstraat, keep to the opening hours: from Sunday to Thursday it is open from 07:00 to 00:30 and on Friday and Saturday until 01:00. From the car park you are in the centre in about four minutes; from P1 on the Molenpad it is about five minutes.

Paying with your phone
