In Breestraat long-stay car park a limit of € 10.00 day ticket applies. Paid parking applies Mon–Sat 9:00–18:30, late-night shopping Thursday until 21:00; Center core II Mon–Sat until 21:00. Where to park in Spijkenisse

Almost all paid parking in Nissewaard sits in Spijkenisse town center and the Gildenwijk, divided over eight zones each with its own zone number on the meter. It pays to know which zone you are in: in the two core zones around the shopping heart you pay € 3.45 per hour, while a few hundred meters further on in Center North, South or East you pay € 2.50.

The five car parks are cheaper still. For € 1 per 50 minutes you park in the Boekenberg, CityPlaza, Kolkplein, Stadhuis or Theater car park. Do watch the height: most garages admit cars up to 2.10 meters, the Stadhuis car park up to 1.90 meters, and you cannot enter with a trailer. Anyone staying a whole day drives to the Vredehofstraat long-stay car park, where only a day ticket of € 2.60 exists.

The longer you stay, the more it changes

Nissewaard charges a rising rate in the two core zones: after 2 hours the hourly rate doubles to € 6.90. In the surrounding zones it works exactly the other way around: there the rate drops from the third hour to € 1.25 per hour. The edge zones are therefore meant for anyone who stays longer and the core zones for short shopping. Paid parking mostly applies from Monday to Saturday from 9:00 to 18:30, with an extension to 21:00 on late-night shopping Thursday. In Center core II you pay from Monday to Saturday until 21:00, and in the two core zones you also pay on Sundays and public holidays between 12:00 and 17:00.

License plate, scan car and paying

Nissewaard uses license-plate parking: at the meter you enter your license plate and the enforcement officers use a scan car to check whether you have paid. You do not need a ticket behind the windscreen, but you do need a correctly entered license plate.
