Where to park in West Betuwe

West Betuwe is a municipality of villages, and in almost all those villages you park without paying. Paid parking is limited to Geldermalsen centre, and even there to a handful of spots: Achter 't Veer car park, Koninginnelaan car park and part of Kerkstraat and Geldersestraat. The signs and the parking meters show where the zone starts.

On those spots an hour costs € 0.60 and you may stay at most four hours, so enough space stays free for shoppers. If you want to stay longer, you do not have to walk far: on the Kostverlorenkade, Lingeplein, Geldersestraat and Oranje Nassaustraat car parks your car is free. For an afternoon in Geldermalsen that is often the simplest choice.

Blue zones and permit holders

Besides the paid area the municipality has blue zones: bays with a blue stripe, where with a parking disc under the windscreen you may stay a limited time. The time limit is on the sign at the zone. There are also spots that are for permit holders only. You read that on the signs on the spot too. There is no general rule that applies to all towns at once.

Until when you pay and how you pay

Paid parking in Geldermalsen applies from Monday to Saturday from 9.00 to 18.00, and on late-night shopping on Friday until 21.00. Outside those hours and on Sunday your car is free.

At the meter you pay cash or by debit card, and you can add time per 10 minutes: every ten minutes costs € 0.10. Paying with a parking app is possible too.
