Every parking session has an end time. The Parking action block on the zone screen already proposes one, recognisable by the word "Until" followed by a time. With Set end time you pick a different moment yourself. That end time is mandatory: for every parking session, whatever way you pay, and at most 24 hours ahead.
How to set the end time
- Tap the zone on the map and tap Start action.
- On the zone screen, check the code in the top right and the selected Vehicle.
- In the Parking action block, tap Set end time.
- Pick the moment in Until what time do you want to park?: "Select your end time. The price for this zone will be calculated automatically."
- Tap Next and then Start.
The time wheel moves in steps of five minutes and you can pick up to 24 hours ahead. Staying longer means starting a new session afterwards.
What you see in advance
While you turn the wheel, the app prices along. Below it are End time, Total price, that is the parking rate plus the € 0.29 service fee, and Your balance. So before starting you see what you will pay. If your balance does not cover that period, the wizard adds a Top up step; on the zone screen the start button is replaced by the message Insufficient balance. With direct debit the balance row is left out.
When the municipality sets the end time
In some zones the end time is fixed. The app then shows End time is fixed: "The municipality has a strict max parking duration here, so the end time can't be adjusted. You can always end your parking activity earlier, the price will be recalculated and remain on your balance." So in such a zone you cannot choose a later moment. See Maximum parking duration.
Back earlier?
If you return earlier than planned, simply stop the session yourself. You only pay for the time you were parked; the difference stays on your account as credit. Picking a generous end time therefore costs you nothing extra.
Back later?
By default you get a push notification fifteen minutes beforehand that your parking activity is ending soon. You set that moment yourself under Profile › Notifications, at Parking ends soon, anywhere from five to sixty minutes. If you stay longer, tap Extend on your running session and pick a new moment. That is possible until the session expires. See Extending your parking time.
Paid hours and day-pass zones
If the zone's paid hours end before your end time, you only pay for the time within those hours. See Paid hours. In a day-pass zone the end time barely affects the price: "This is a day card zone. Once you start parking, you pay a fixed day rate."
