Viewing or requesting your data

Most of it you see in the app. You request a full copy under Profile › Privacy › Request your data; it arrives by email within a week.

You have the right to know which personal data we process about you and to receive a copy of it. Most of it is simply in the app, spread across the screens where you use it. If you want everything in one file, you request that in the app; it comes to you by email.

What you see in the app yourself

Under Profile you find your data per subject:

  • Account: your Full name, Phone number, Email and Address.
  • Vehicles: your licence plates, each with the name attached to it and the make of the car.
  • Balance: your credit, your Linked accounts and, under Transactions, all your parking actions and payments.
  • Invoices: Payments for your top-ups and Usage for your parking costs per month.
  • Security: what you signed up with and when you last changed your password.

Your running and finished parking actions are in the Activities tab; one action opens as Activity, with vehicle, time, location and cost.

Requesting a full copy

  1. Open the app and tap Profile at the bottom.
  2. In the settings list, tap Privacy.
  3. Tap Request your data.
  4. At Reason for request, say why you want the data.
  5. Tap Send.

The app explains why it asks for a reason: "We value transparency. That is why you always have the right to see the data we have about you. To process your request as well as possible, we'd like to know the reason for your request."

What you get and when

Right after sending you receive an email confirming that we have received your data request and that you will hear from us within a week. Once the request has been processed, an email follows saying your SimplePark account data is ready, with your data attached as a JSON file. JSON is a text file you can open with any text editor.

The request is free. With an unreasonable number of repeated requests we may charge a fee or refuse a request, but in practice that does not happen.

Your other rights

Besides access you have the right to correction, deletion, restriction of processing, portability of your data and objection. You usually correct things yourself under Profile › Account; see Changing your name and address. Deletion is arranged under Profile › Security › Delete account. For the other rights, email [email protected]. Which data we process, what for and how long we keep it is in the privacy statement.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your request, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
