Your invoice shows two amounts per parking session, and separately a third per payment. That looks more complicated than it is. Below is exactly what each amount is, who receives it and how to work it out yourself.

Parking fee
This is the municipality's parking tax: the zone's hourly rate, converted to the time your session ran within paid hours. The municipality also sets the unit you are billed in, sometimes a minute and often a quarter of an hour. A unit you start counts in full. The footnote under the rate table for the zone says which unit applies there. SimplePark passes this amount on to the municipality in full and adds no mark-up. Service fee
€ 0.29 per session is our fee for the app: registering with the national parking register, the notifications, your overview under Activities, your invoices, and support. The amount is fixed, however long or short you stay. If you park for free, outside paid hours for instance, we charge no service fee. See SimplePark's service fee.
Transaction fee
€ 0.29 per successful payment: every top-up and every direct debit. Processing a payment costs money, and because the parking fee goes entirely to the municipality, our margin is small. Charging the transaction fee separately let us keep the service fee low. See Transaction fee per payment.
Worked example
You top up € 25 and park three times that week in a zone at € 3.00 per hour that bills per minute: 40, 25 and 90 minutes. If the zone bills per quarter of an hour, the amounts come out higher.

Together € 8.62 from your credit. The top-up cost a one-off € 0.29 transaction fee, so that week you paid € 8.91 in total for a little over two and a half hours of parking.
What you never pay
No subscription, no fee for adding a vehicle, no fee for notifications and no fee for invoices. Push messages and emails are covered by the service fee, and the text message with a verification code is free. Nor is there an amount per session for the payment itself: the transaction fee is charged per payment, not per session. The full overview is on the rates page.
