The service fee is what SimplePark charges for using the app: € 0.29 per parking session. The amount is fixed. Whether you stay ten minutes or a whole day, the service fee is the same. There is no subscription on top and there are no other fixed costs.
What you get for it
- Registering and deregistering your plate with the national parking register, so enforcement sees you have paid.
- Paying only for the time your session ran, in the unit the municipality sets.
- Notifications while your session runs and before an end time passes.
- Your per-session overview under Activities, the parking confirmation by email and your invoices under Invoices.
- As many vehicles as you need, and several parking sessions at once.
- Support by email, and by phone or WhatsApp for problems while parking.
When you pay no service fee
If you park for free, we charge no service fee. That applies when you start a session outside the zone's paid hours, or on a day the municipality does not charge. So you only pay the service fee when there is a parking fee too.
Comparison with a subscription
Some parking apps charge a fixed monthly amount, sometimes with a lower fee per session. That only pays off if you park very often. With SimplePark you pay nothing in a month you do not park. Park twenty times a month and you spend € 5.80 in service fees; park twice and it is € 0.58.
Service fee on a day pass and when extending
A day pass is one session and therefore carries the service fee once. Extending a session with an end time costs no extra service fee: it remains the same session. Only a new session, after moving your car to another zone for instance, carries the service fee again.
Where you see the service fee
Open the Activities tab and tap a parking session. On the Activity the Total cost line shows the total followed by "incl. € 0.29 service fee", so you can see per session what came off your credit. On your usage invoice under Invoices › Usage the service fee is a separate Service fee(s) line, next to the On-street activity line with the municipality's parking fee.
Messages cost nothing. Push notifications during your session and the emails we send, such as your parking confirmation, are covered by the service fee. The text message with a verification code, when creating your account or resetting your password for instance, is free too.
Changes
We keep the service fee as low as possible and lower it where we can. If we change it, you hear about it in advance; see Price changes. The current overview is on the rates page.
